EU Research Contracts
The following are short summaries of contracts, completed by Inter-Euro Technology Ltd, in co-operation with other EU partners:
A special electrochemical system was developed to regenerate spent chromic acid oxidising liquors. Applications include chromic acid for oxidation of organics and pharmaceuticals or etching of plastic surfaces.
(Contract no. RNF 026 EIR and MAIR 0016 C.)
An integrated system of selective leaching, and solvent extraction and electrowinning was applied to the recovery and separation of nickel, cobalt and molybdenum from spent petroleum desulferisation catalysts.
(Contract no. MA2R-CT90-0004-SMA)
Technology was developed for non-toxic alternatives to toxic chromic acid solutions for corrosion protection of aluminium and galvanised steel surfaces.
(Contract no EN5V-CT92-0236)
Specialised cells and electrodes were developed and good results were obtained for destruction or minimisation of toxic organic and pharmaceutical pollutants in industrial effluents.
(Contract no. EV5V-CT92-00237)
The results from Contract no EN5V-CT92-0236 were further developed for a group of electroplating and surface finishing companies located in Ireland, England, the Netherlands and Sweden.
(EU CRAFT Contract ENV4-CT98-0726 DG12-VOMA)
New technology was developed to remove nitrates from potable waters by use of biofilms with hydrogen feed as nutrient. We developed a unique cell design for hydrogen production for this application - the Faraday Hydrogen Factory cell
(Contract no. ENV4-CT97-0512 DG12-ESCY)
Technology was developed for non-toxic alternatives to toxic chromic acid solutions for etching of polymer surfaces for electroless plating.
(EU CRAFT Contract BRST-CT98-5437)
Development of an innovative technology for recovery of toxic metals and high value metals using modified paramagnetic particles. The metals ions can be removed from solution by simple magnetic treatment.
(EU Research Contract BRPR-CT98-8003 DG12 -RSMT)
IONMET - New Ionic Liquid Solvent Technology - a breakthrough technology with the potential to transform the scope and competitiveness of industrial metal finishing processes
(EU Research Contract FP6- IP 515743-2)
